| These pictures were taken in the Bitterroot Wilderness area in Montana. This free ranging mule deer doe came into our elk camp several times. We threw bread toward her and she ate it. Showing no fear of us we got her to take bread from our hands and after a while she took it from our mouths. I don't recommend you doing this and I would not do it again. This doe became aggressive when we ran out of bread and started striking with her front feet. She hit one of us on the hand and was becoming more aggressive. We had to run her off before she really hurt anyone. |

My
partner and I ran into the unexpected..."BIG ARSE URSUS"!
There won't be too many details, due to the fact I am working on a
magazine article, and hopefully will see it published. I will tell you
the bear green scored at 29" and will rank around 100 in the
B&C record books. ABM, your gonna drewl on this, hypothetically
speaking, if I would of arrowed the big guy, he would rank as the new
#1 P&Y world record. The bear was shot 10 yards away (no zeros
missing in that figure my friends) in the head with a .338 Remington
Winnie, using 250 grain Nosler handloads, followed up with two shots
to the vitals. A very quick clean death.

Have you big game hunters ever seen a black white tail before? The photo came from Michigan with this note--"this black deer (Melanistic color phase) is even more rare than an albino". |
